Why do we let the government regulate what we put into our bodies? With all of the regulation out there, this is one of the most invasive of all.

Because they're hypocrites.
Although it is not true that all conservatives are stupid people, it is true that most stupid people are conservative. John Stuart Mill |

RE: Conservatives, why don't you support legalization?
Because you don't have the right to run around high and put everyone else at risk. Do you want to legalize drunk driving too?

Drunk and high driving can still be illegal whether drugs are illegal. Your position makes no sense. Should alcohol be legal? Deflect deflect deflect. First of all, we're not talking about crack here. Most of the support for legalization is centered around marijuana. Second off, what you're saying makes no sense, I addressed it and you gave me the same logical fallacy over again. We're not talking about laws prohibiting the actions you take when you're intoxicated, we're talking about laws prohibiting the possession of the drugs themselves. Legalize it all!
BumbleBee Journal - Conservative Blog I would remind you that extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice! And let me remind you also that moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue! |

ok my personal view on the the whole situation that was brought to hand. Marijuana could be legalized if they really wanted to. but then they would have to put tax rates on it and then they wouldnt get soooooo many drug charges which would result in the police department not reaching their quota's. however it was mentioned about drunk driving. im sorry but in my opinion ive never heard of anyone killing someone while driving under the influence of marijuana but it is known to kill someone under the influence of alcohol. my case is close. marijuana is safer than alcohol in my opinion. LEGALIZE MARY JANE!

RE: Conservatives, why don't you support legalization?
Okay, well, here's my aspect on things. There's a theory, with marijuana, that you would have to smoke two tons of pure THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) in order to overdose on the drug. Keeping in mind that this is simply a theory and that it is humanly impossible to inhale that much THC, we also should take into account that the U.S. Federal Government's Drug Awareness Warning Report has never reported one death caused by the intoxication of marijuana. So, with the facts being placed, how can we assume that everything we hear on TV is true?
So, that all being said, I don't take either a legalize or keep-it-the-same standpoint, but I do say that with the facts being laid out, I don't see a problem with legalizing marijuana. The reason that it's not legal yet is because of young teenagers who think they're invincible and the invincibility thought leaves them to crashing into buildings with cars and what-have-you, and the second that they find out there was THC in their body, they assume that it was because of marijuana. |
