FDR and the great depression
I know this is old but I had to dredge it up. What do you think of this? FDR is supposed to be untouchable but I do think some of his stuff was disastrous, government setting of prices for example.

RE: FDR and the great depression
FDR was a wannabe dictator like Obama. Government control was his ultimate objective.

More revisionist history from the right. He wasn't perfect but he was damn near one of the best we've ever had. This study has been debunked BTW.

I'd like to see a link to that. What about all the wage and price fixing? I don't think we would have gotten out if it werent for ww2.

Unemployment was dropping even before ww2. It would have been hell if we had just let the private sector destroy itself. That's what they did for the first couple years and look how that turned out.

Dropping? Yeah, maybe a point a year. It stayed in the double digits. We only returned to anything even resembling normalcy after we bombed the hell out of the rest of the world.
